Punch Card Policies

  • Payment and Refund Policy

    • All fees are non-refundable after registration.

    • Full payment is due at signup.

    • At first attendance, a punch card will be issued to the participant to use for future drop-in sessions.

    • Punch card will not expire, but must be used for only one registered participant. If desired, the card can be transferred to a new person by emailing info@apottersplace.com.

    Registration Requirements

    • At registration, be prepared to complete the participant's emergency contact, allergy, and photo permission information.

    Health Guidelines

    • Please do not attend a drop-in session if sick.

    Age & Ability Guidelines

    • Participants must be between the ages of 14 years old and 17.

  • Attendance

    • Pickup/Self-Leave Authorization: Only adults on the approved guardian list (submitted at registration) can pick up participants. Teens may drive themselves to and from a session but this MUST be checked as an option at registration.

    Timing Guidelines

    • Participants can drop in during the scheduled Punch Card times. Duration and specific arrival time within the session are flexible.

    • Participants must be prepared to clean up and put items away 15 minutes prior to the session ending.

    Parent Guidelines

    • Drop-off: Accompany your teen inside and help them get oriented. Note that we have limited areas for parents to hang out. Lab monitors will provide demos and ensure your teen has a creative but supervised session.

    • Pickup: Return prior to the session ending to ensure lab monitors can clean and lock the studio. We will not lock up and leave a teen unattended, but we ask for respectful pickups to avoid inconveniencing our staff and volunteers.

  • Food

    • Allergy Note: Our facility is not peanut-free. If your teen has severe dietary restrictions or allergies (e.g., nuts, gluten), please note this during registration on their medical release. We inform our staff of potential emergency situations.

    What to Bring/Wear

    • Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty—clay will wash out, but old t-shirts or aprons are ideal. Leave jewelry, watches, or valuables at home to avoid loss or mess.

    • Pack a hand-towel-sized towel (about 16”x28”) for wiping clay-covered hands, especially crucial for wheel-throwing!

Our goal is to provide fun, creative sessions for all! Participants are expected to respect peers, instructors, and rules—listening attentively, sharing tools, and cleaning up appropriately.

  • Disruptive behaviors (e.g., repeated inappropriate behavior, refusing to follow directions, or unsafe actions) will prompt a warning. If issues persist after discussion with the participant, parents will be called, and the punch card may be canceled. We’ll work together to ensure a positive outcome for everyone.
