    Age & Ability Guidelines

    • Each camp has tailored age and ability ranges, set with our instructors to ensure success.

    • Kids must meet the minimum age (6+ for hand-building, 9+ for wheel-throwing) by the camp’s start date.

    • Please respect these restrictions when registering to help every camper thrive!

  • Check-In & Check-Out Policies

    • Location: Check-in and check-out happen inside the building.

    • Adult Supervision: Campers must be with an adult when entering or leaving—no exiting alone to meet a vehicle.

    • Pickup Authorization: Only adults on the approved guardian list (submitted at registration) can pick up campers. For changes, email apottersplacefoco@gmail.com in advance to update the list.

    Timing Guidelines

    • Please arrive no more than 10 minutes early—our instructors need this time to prep the classroom.

    • Avoid arriving more than 10 minutes late to respect the class flow and introductions.

    • On-time arrivals help us keep the day smooth and fun for everyone—thanks for your support!

    Parent Guidelines

    • To foster creative independence and organic peer bonds, parents and guardians are not permitted in the classroom during camp hours.

    • Drop-off: Accompany your child inside, help them settle until 9:00 AM (morning) or 1:00 PM (afternoon), then head to our common area or leave the premises.

    • Pickup: Return at 12:00 PM (morning) or 4:00 PM (afternoon) and check-out inside with an approved guardian. Stay nearby in our common area if you prefer—your child knows you’re close if they need you!

    • We’ll reach out immediately if any concerns arise, ensuring you’re always in the loop.

  • Snacks & Water

    • A snack break occurs daily around halfway through each session (approximately 10:30 AM for morning camps, 2:30 PM for afternoons).

    • We provide water, but every camper must bring a reusable water bottle, labeled with their name, to stay hydrated.

    • Allergy Note: Our facility is not peanut-free. If your child has severe dietary restrictions or allergies (e.g., nuts, gluten) that could affect others, Please not this during registration. We’ll do our best to notify other families and adjust accordingly.

    What to Bring/Wear

    • Dress your child in comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty—clay will wash out, but old t-shirts or aprons are ideal. Leave jewelry, watches, or valuables at home to avoid loss or mess.

    • Pack a hand-towel-sized towel (about 16”x28”) for wiping clay-covered hands, especially crucial for wheel-throwing campers who’ll get messier.

    • Optional: Have a spare change of clothes in your car or a towel for the seat, if your child tends to dive deep into messy fun!

    Behavior Expectations

    • Our goal is a fun, creative camp experience for all! Campers are expected to respect peers, instructors, and rules—listening attentively, sharing tools, and keeping hands to themselves.

    • Disruptive behaviors (e.g., repeated interruptions, refusing to follow directions, or unsafe actions like throwing clay) will prompt a warning. If issues persist after discussion with the camper, parents will be called and must pick up their child within 30 minutes. We’ll work together to ensure a positive outcome for everyone.

    Finished Projects

    • Our goal is to have all projects fired, glazed, and ready for pick-up two weeks after camp ends. Clay pieces require two firings and final prep, so please note this process may take a bit longer depending on volume and kiln schedules.

    • Pieces are sorted by camp session (date and time) for quick pick-up. We’re open Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Every camp is unique; please refer to the registration information for specific details!
